The club service started with the experience sharing of Rotaractors about the enjoyment they did during one of the most widely celebrated festival,Ganesh Chaturthi. In India, Ganesh Chaturthi celebration was started by Lokamanya Tilak.Tilak realized the cultural importance of this deity and popularized Ganesh Chaturthi as a National Festival “to bridge the gap between the Brahmins and the non-Brahmins and find an appropriate context in which to build a new grassroots unity between them”
Thus to celebrate the festival the theme of the GBM was kept as Ganesh Chaturthi. The team names were as follows:
- PRAGMATIC- dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.
- ACCLIMATISATION-To accustoms or becomes accustomed to a new climate or environment.
- BELLIGERENT- Person engaged in war or conflict, as recognized by international law.
- CYNICAL-believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity.
The first game was Perspective in which teams were given different professio. They were told to explain what different parts of the body of lord Ganesha signifies using analogy. Everyone gave quite interesting.
Then the next session was Dramatic Creation. In this, a video was provided to each team.Teams had to create their own dialogues for the video and had to deliver the dialogue when the video was played mute on the screen .The videos were quite funny and interesting and also the teams were creative too. Everyone made beautiful and funny scripts for the video and also delivered it well.Everyone enjoyed it a lot and showcased their talent in the game.
Then, the next session was Symposium was a mass discussion over the topic Fight for faith or Fight for truth.Everyone had a sparse, motivating views over the topic.Hearing Rotarctors it felt that reason is reeling in the known, faith is moving into the unknown. The reason is repetition, faith is exploration. The reason is routine, faith is an adventure. They are completely opposite, yet an integral part of life.
Thus the GBM was ended with the command of the president.
