Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” To belong in society is the most important yet least recognized need of human beings. Thus, to generate this sense of belonging to society among Walchandites, ROTARACT CLUB of WCE, SANGLI successfully organised Blood Donation Camp for second semester of the academic year 2016-2017 on 3rd February 2017.
The camp was inaugurated at 4:15pm by the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. S. P. Chauhan along with Prof. C. H. Wagh, Staff Adviser of Rotaract Club of WCE, Sangli and Rtr. Likhit Unadkat, President of Rotaract Club of WCE, Sangli. It was held in classroom number 19 and 20 from 4:30 pm onward. Utmost care of donors was taken throughout the camp by the doctors and the experienced nurses, workers who also provided all the necessary equipment. It was not only the students but some of the faculty members also who were keen to lend their helping hand towards this social cause through blood donation. Refreshment as well as certificate for donation was provided to every donor for their contribution.
This time, the Blood Donation Camp witnessed the contribution of 206 heroes, among whom the efforts of Rotaractors proved to be successful in generating the sense of belonging towards society and compassion for humanity.
Along with the sincere efforts of keen volunteers from first years and second years, Rotaract Club successfully conducted the Blood Donation Camp. The spirit of teamwork, co-ordination was witnessed by everyone for achieving the goal of greater good of the society through noble deeds of Blood Donation Camp. At 8:30 pm the Blood Donation Camp ended with a grand success. After all, it was rightly said by Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
